i was wondering if this motor

i was wondering if this motor would run better with a lead additive? also is 24-1 the propper mix? motor can be hard starting

"Fergy.... Mixture is 50/1. The engine is designed to run on unleaded. A lead additive is a waste of money. If you have compression and ignition (spark that will jump a 1/4" gap), the usual problem that causes hard starting is a clogged fouled carburetor.
