"I have a 1998 75 hp Force by Mercury Model 75elpt and S/N E326064. I am embarking on my first significant repair journey since buying this unit last Fall('07). The water flow system is marginal with the high temp alarm going off after the engine has been run for awhile and you start to idle. I suspect a worn impeller along with some trash and build-up in the passage ways. I am going to remove the lower unit and replace the impeller as well as the thermostat. I have the Sierra 18-8900 impeller and the 18-3553 thermostat. Can anyone help me with any schematics of this motor, instructions, and/or any tricks of the trade as far as the removal and re-installation of the impeller and the lower unit.
