77 140 Johnson outboard replacement

Recently purchased a non running glastron fishing boat with a 77 140 Johnson outboard. Cylinder 2 had no compression and after tear down found rings have exploded damaging the cylinder and head. I am debating trying to rebuild or getting a used outboard with good compression to throw on. If I were going to go with a used outboard, what would I be looking for that would mount up to the controls? Also how difficult is the swap?

A common failure.-----Will happen to every one of these motors.-----Your location ?----Any V-4 with big red plug on the harness is a direct plug and play swap.----Bolt holes are also the same.
