I took apart the lower unit cause I’m having problems getting reverse to work properly. Often times the it would stick in forward gear. Nutral to reverse would take a lot to engage. Here’s is a picture of the shift assist. My question is the lever I’m pointing at is slamming down on the housing causing it to dent and chip away at the housing. This is causing a pinch on the shaft that goes up and down. Is this a common problem? Would replacing the housing solve this problem? I assume it’s a spring of sorts inside...
also, is this pin supposed to be bent? Lower unit has a large patch in the front so I’m assuming everything is out of wack any input is appreciated ! Thanks guys
