'83 Mercury 800, 4 cylinder 2 stroke

My son picked up an '83 merc 80 hp, 4 cylinder 2 stroke. Can someone please tell me the correct cold start procedure. The engine has no chokes, but instead has a " enriching." Circuit. There's no fast idle leverage on the control box either. I'm experienced in the old press ' 73 stuff,but these are over my head. I'm thinking he keeps flooding the engine out ,due to the enriching circuit. Thanks, Greg

There will be a fast idle feature on the control box.----Need to post a picture.----Is there a button to push in to disengage the shift?----Push key in and hold it in while cranking it over.-----Install a new water pump impeller now.

Push the square button at the bottom of the handle.----Handle is then throttle only.
