85 75 hp merc flywheel removal

hi , do i need some special puller to pull the hub. im trying to get to the timer base. another question. the listing on marinengine.com shows 2 different part numbers for the cdi brand and only one for the merc brand. looking in my cdi catalog neigther are for a 75 hp ???? thanks......david
 
THANKS FOR THE THREAD. that is pretty much what i thought. will make one today and save the 30 bucks. thanks again......david
 
o yea, it is a 4 cyl. and those are the part numbers that i came up with. do you know why there are two ? will try to pull hub today to get # off old timer base......david
 
You can use a two jaw puller with GRADE 8 BOLTS in 2 of the holes of those 8 bolts that hold the flywheel on.

I checked dva output. I got a reading only on two wires. The white/blk wire had been spliced at somepoint in the past. Corrosion got under the insulation and the wire was actually broke.all green inside.
