Hello all, it's been a while!
Was just wanting to share my experience.
I ordered a couple of carburetor repair kits to rebuild the carbs on my engine.
When I got done with that, I remounted the carbs, hooked up the fuel hose, and gave the primer bulb a bunch of pumps.
When the bulb wouldn't get hard, I noticed that gas was spilling out of the lower carb!
I tapped on the carb, thinking that maybe the float got hung up somehow. No change.
I then drained the carb, and tried to prime it again.
Still flooding.
I then pulled the carb off, removed the float bowl, and lifted the float off to have a look at the needle and seat.
Clean as a whistle.
I did notice however, that when operating the needle and seat by hand, a very small amount of hanging up or sticking could be felt.
I thought that was strange, so I decided to pop the old needle and seat back in to see what would happen.
Remounted the carb again - and this time, I could pump the primer bulb until it was hard, and no dripping from the carb.
What gives?
Has anyone here ever had something like this happen?
Did I damage the new needle and seat somehow? Or is it likely that it is just defective?
I was very careful when working on the carbs, and cleaned everything meticulously.
Any comments, feedback, or experiences that you may like to share would be great!
Thanks.
