Good day guys im new here. I recently purchased this boat. It is 1992 Smoker Craft 162 Pro Mag with 1991 Mercury 75 hp Outboard. Issue im having is when I have the motor trimmed up the motor wont start. When I lower the trim down it starts up and runs. While the motor is running if I trim up it starts to run rough then dies and wont restart until I lower the motor back down. I have replaced primer ball and fuel line, fuel filter and spark plugs.

You go to a docter's office with a complaint.----They take your blood pressure first.-----You have an issue with an outboard you do a compression test first.----Post the actual values here.

I believe there is a "tilt switch" that will kill the ignition by completing a circuit to ground if the motor gets trimmed up too far (safety feature). Maybe your tilt switch is malfunctioning. You should be able to unplug the tilt switch to eliminate it from consideration. It is usually mounted low on the ignition coil side near where the wiring harness comes into the motor. One wire will be connected to ground and the other to a wire plug.
