94 evinrude dash ignition switch

I purchased a bass boat with a 94 Johnson/Evinrude outboard and I was having issues with the key getting stuck in the ignition switch. I purchased a new one that showed the exact same terminals as the previous one. Hooked it up and NOTHING. Battery is fully charged. Do I need to reset something??? Please Help

Did you turn off / disconnect battery during the work ?------Checked the fuse on the motor ?------35 hp or 250 hp motor ?----Model # of the motor ?

I did not disconnect the battery... And I have no idea about a fuse on the motor. I have 115hp model number E115GLEDC

Your motor appears to be a 96 model.-------Find the 20 amp fuse on the motor as I think it went POOFF on you.

Always disconnect the battery when doing electrical work.......... or you may blow the fuse or possibly destroy the wiring loom.

The fuse in question is 20amp blade fuse shown ( together with a spare one) in this diagram

Double check that you have wired the new switch correctly and that none of the wiring is shorting to ground
