"I could really use some guidance. I have a 1999 Johnson 115spl on the back of my wife's lake minivan(pontoon). I was driving it across the cove to the marina to gas it up for a fun day on the 4th. I realized that the master switch for the accessory panel had been left on. While I was driving it and I switched it off because I wasn't using lights or radio. When I did, the motor immediately changed it's sound and lost maybe 10 percent of its power. When I got to the gas dock, it would no longer start at idle position on the throttle. It will still crank and run well but only at about 1/3 throttle or more. It won't run below that speed for me to shift out of neutral. Because of the fact that it happened when I flipped the switch on the panel, I suspect it's an electrical problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated."

"the master sw on the boat das

"the master sw on the boat dash, would not normally have any,...effect on the eng.that controls the boat electrics only....i suspect only a coincidence....but your eng needs to be checked out."

"Yeah, I don't REALLY thin

"Yeah, I don't REALLY think that it makes sense for it to be electrical either unless the change in load had some effect on one of the electrical parts that controls fuel flow (power pack maybe?). I REALLY would like some direction to what devises it could be because we don't have a pontoon trailer or know of a shop who makes house calls so taking it to the shop is real difficult. Even if unsuccessful, I wouldn't mind spending a couple hundred bucks and trying to fix it myself if it meant not pulling it out. If it was yours, where would you start? One tech mentioned the stator?"

"since u say all that.........

"since u say all that..........if someone has put an electric fuel pump on that rig,..that could screw u up,......and i saw that ,about 5 mos ago."

"ck the entire length of fuel

"ck the entire length of fuel hose to see if they have inst that elect fuel pump,..particularly,near battery, fuel tank, and under dash,if fuel line maybe runs up that far."

"No E-fuel pump. I replaced t

"No E-fuel pump. I replaced the line this spring. Tank in back corner by the motor, is 24 Gallon. Unless it's inside the tank I don't think that's it. Speaking of that, is there a mechanical pump that maybe the diaphram could be bad?"

"has the boat sat up unused for a lengthy period of time?...
start at the basics-
ck spark
ck compression
ck fuel delivery
ck for water in fuel
these items, encompass alot more technicality, but u have to do the process of elimination method."
