!986 50 HP compression

Its a 1986 e50belcde. I checked it today, not sure I did it right. I unplugged the plug wires and pulled one plug at a time came up with 128 on the top and 125 on the bottom. Just checked it once. How long should I crank the motor? when I first did it I cranked it for about 5 seconds and it hit 150. Then I bled it off and tried again. counting one one thousand, up to two. did that again for the bottom and came up with the 128 and 125
 
just bought it and am trying to test everything before I put it on the water. I would hate to get stranded on my maiden voyage.
 
gonna replace the impeller and thermostat tomorrow if I can find out where it is. The manual only shows it during disassembly of the head. cant tell where it is at on a complete motor. also gonna change lower unit oil, and run seafoam thru the first tank. oh and also flush if I can find the saltaway here locally. Its got new plugs and wires.
