Hello. I have an 87 40hp 3cyl 2 stroke. The trim has **** itself and is heavily corroded. The areas where the bolts pass through the reservoir are heavily corroded and cracked. This trim unit is insanely expensive for some reason. More than newer used ones. It looks like 85-94 are the same. The 95-03 (40-50HP) units look very similar. Does anyone know if there is any interchangeability here? Like maybe only slight design change while keeping dimensions? I attached pics of my unit (top pic) and the newer design 2001 unit. Any help greatly appreciated.
