Hi, looking for some advice if I may please.
I have a Mercruiser Bravo 3 drive and a V8 6.2L Engine. This has Smartcraft / ERC connections. There is a 14pin connector from the Engine to the Dash connecting to a DTS Helm Cable. The dashboard display has the SC1000 Smartcraft Tacho. All new as part of a restoration project.
The Bravo 3 has the Steering Angle sensor installed and is connected to the Dash via the 14pin connector. This connects to a DTS helm cable. The DTS Helm cable has a Junction box connection and the SC1000 Tacho display also goes to the junction box. The SC1000 Speedometer would display rudder angle but the display is not very big and have not connected the pitot speedo as I have the GPS speed and a paddle-wheel display so not sure if that is useful? The VesselVessel costs are making me think twice.
Now I also have a Garmin plotter with the GMI 20 multifunction display which can give me a host of Engine data, especially if I get the Mercruiser NMEA 2000 adaptor, but not sure if the Mercury rudder angle sensor is compatible? Also, I am not sure if the VesselView mobile displays rudder angle if that was a worthwhile addition.
I really would like a stand-alone rudder angle adaptor which would be handy for single handed docking. Is there an instrument that would work?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
