Battery to outboard cable question

1999 130hp, moving 2 batteries from stern splash well into the center console. The wire cable feed from the outboard to the battery and a master switch is currently a rectangular shaped double cable that passes through a big rubber grommet in the outboard case.

1. I need to extend this cable another 6-8 ft, I don’t know the age so my plan is to run new cable, not do a join, from the outboard to the console. I haven’t finished measuring yet but I’m thinking maybe 12 ft of cable needed.
2. From what I read, likely need 1 or 2 awg cable.
3. Can I run regular battery cable through the outboard grommet or do I need the same type cable that is there now?
4. Where can I buy marine battery cable of the 2 strand rectangular type if that is what is needed?

Thanks, Don

Also, in rewiring I’m adding a main switch panel to run my GPS, VHF, etc through, which is more reliable, circuit breakers or fuse type?

The existing cable has several connectors fed off it at the starter, I think I will get a blue sea dual connector to do an extension, I have a good spot to mount one.

The existing cable is a dual cable marked AV30, I can’t find anything that tells me what AWG gauge that is, any idea what it is?

The positive cable is bigger than the negative, measuring the outside diameter, seems like they are 2awg and 1awg. Thanks, Don
