The ONLY manual that will cover your motor is a factory manual. Dont even think about anything else especially if you have the 2+2 motor.

Dont know too much about this so just curious. I went on mercury website and found where you can purchase manual and they're like 90 bucks on there. Is that about what I should expect to pay for a factory manual? Should I stay away from SELOC or clymer?

The factory manuals are expensive but they are the most (technical) and specific to your motor.

The Seloc's are less technical and may gloss over some things or combine a number of horsepowers/models so you have to try and decipher what applies to your motor. But Seloc's is written for the backyard mechanic so lists some do's/don'ts, hints etc whereas the factory manual "assumes" the user is a tech.

So "which manual" really depends on what you want it for. If you will undertake a major overhaul of the motor, lower unit etc, then the factory manual is priceless. But if you simply are changing plugs, an impeller kit etc, then a Seloc's will do.

Personally the only thing I would use a Clymer (marine) manual for is starting my fireplace - but maybe that's just me...
