BF225 water leak cleanup + part question.

Hi, my port BF225 has a water leak coming from the short hose at the base of the engine kinda below/behind the starter. The first question I have is this the right hose/part? I stupidly did not remember to take a picture but there can’t be that many exposed water hoses in that location. Its got bends in it, maybe 4-6” long and 1/2” dia or so, held by two metal spring clips. Engine is a BAHJ-1600XXXX.

My other more important question is cleanup. There is a bunch of salt residue all over the left (if looking at the engine from behind) side. Whats the best way to clean this up? Wash with salt away or other process?

Thanks!
AC

Not sure if this will directly answer your question but item 6 in the link below:

It's the only return hose that isn't a single 90° bend.

As far as washing off the salt, I'm no expert but would imagine any sort of effective surface cleaner....(Simple Green maybe?)....might get the job done.

I've never used Salt Away but I don't think you could be criticized for trying it should you choose to.

Good luck.

It’s salt, use soap and water if you can reach it. Salt away is for inside things you can’t touch with soap and water. I would spray the painted areas and bolt heads after cleaning with a light coat of something like fluid film.
