Bringing on old Jet motor back to life

Pretty pumped (pun intended) to bring this 70's jet motor back to life. I purchased this motor last week from an Air Force veteran that brought it back to KY after being stationed in Alaska. It's an early 70's 25hp with an Outboard Jet's model H jet pump.

After rebuilding the carb and installing a new fuel pump the motor is back to life. I now have the lower unit fully disassembled and waiting on a bearing seal that was ordered from Outboard Jets. Can't wait to get this wet in the river! And if anyone ever has questions about jet motors those guys have a plethora of knowledge.

congrats on reviving the old jet. my only advice is to get as light a boat as possible to get the best performance out of it. also get the front of the foot as close as possible in height of the bottom of the boat. jet drives eat about 30-35% of your horsepower, which means expect what you would out of a 15-18 hp prop drive. nothing beats the ability to go through areas on a river that are less than 8-10" deep, or cruise along without fear of the sunken logs. happy motoring....
 
I’m putting it on my topper 1542. With my current load (myself and 85lb lab) I’m getting 22 mph with an early 90’s evinrude 15hp. In the process of fanning up a transom extension to place the leading edge of the intake at 1/2” from bottom of transom.
 
Finally got everything put back together and was able to test run. THIS THING IS COOL!! I’ve got some minor adjustments to make. But was able to get up to 18mph with a light load. I’m pretty sure I need a new prop sleeve as mine has all the washers on the top side and still 0.047” of clearance between prop and sleeve. I think I read the spec calls for .03”.
