Hello There!

Need a mercury expert to clarify something to me. I've been having trim issues. First the trim limiter was replaced, and it was indeed damaged, replaced the trim sensor with part #8M0094923 (my motor had 8M0083396 originally). now the trim moves but, is not smooth. stops and starts constantly. I have a feeling is the trim positioning sensor....according to my local dealer the part they sold to me is the right now (8M0094923)....but my motor had a different one.

they look the same, but, are they??

the original part reads TRIM PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).....
the one they sold to me doesn't have the PWM stamped on it...but that doesn't mean is not....

any parts expert on the forum to shed some light on this?

PD. Motor is a 2018 Mercury 115 1115F131D

Don't know for sure but my guess is the 8M00833396 is a over seas part only. I'm unable to find the number at Mercury or other parts places. Did find the part on ebay

The 8M0094923 can be found at Mercury and other places

Mercury Part Number: 8M0083396
Description: Trim & Tilt Sender Assembly (Digital/PWM)

I'm trying to connect it to my smartcraft mobile but my values are showing zero, so I'm trying to figure out if it's an actually a digital or analog trim sensor

Looks like you'd be needing to change over to an analog sender to a digital output kit for Smartcraft gauge applications.

Be aware of this connection way too, https://www.mercruiserparts.com/mercury-mercruiser-8m0111837-digital-analog-con
