DV8 SME Charging Problem

i have replaced alternator, regulator and diode boaboard (new components) but still system only charging at 12.6v flat out at full revs. any suggestions greatly appreciated [email protected]

G' day Simon,
Are you measuring voltage at alternator or at end of wiring run at dash board?What are you using to record voltage analoge gauge or a digital multimeter,does the system have a field switch fitted if so remove & retest.

Hi slight change of tack. Has anyone had to replace there voltage regulator/rectifier on a dv 10 mine has burnt out. Bukh no longer make the part the closest I can find is from a ragerini engine. Does anyone have any experience of getting over this problem?

if you have an auto electric shop near by, I'd pay them a visit with your old alternator...many times, they can repair it or, worst case, find you a suitable replacement.
