Extra connection on Fuel/Water Separator on 225

I just picked up a 2006 225. I hooked up fuel and primed it and heard leaking in the engine I found the fuel water separator and it has a connection on the bottom that does not go to anything. I looked at all the parts diagrams I can find and none have a separator like this. Anyone see this before and if so what does it go to?

Never seen that before - really weird, IMO. And it's not on any of the parts diagrams. Recommend that you replace it with an OEM bowl and gasket.

FYI - there is a float inside that will rise if water gets in there and will set off an alarm with very short beeps. There is a wire harness that comes off the bottom of the bowl.

That is a non OEM part as I have 2006 BF225 as well, but don't have that extra connector.
