Fuel connection to Honda 225

I'm going to re-do the fuel lines and Racor's on my boat. I'm planning on ditching the primer-bulb and using the new Racor 490R with integral primer. Looks like my current fuel lines are all 5/16 A1. I was planning on using 316 stainless hose-clamps (or maybe 304 crimp-fit) for the connections to tank/Racor and then peeled back my rigging to see how the fuel line connects to the Honda (done by Honda dealer) - and it's surprisingly held onto a plastic fitting with plastic cable-ties! Is this is standard / preferred setup by Honda? I'm guessing screw-type clamps are a bad idea there as there is so many cables in close quarters, but was expecting to see a metal crimp-fitting. Any reason I should keep cable ties there and not move to a stainless crimp-fitting?

Black plastic joiner is standard Honda from fit up, cable ties are safe to use but usually a galvanised Honda crimp fitting comes with fit up kit to secure fuel line. As you said, screw clamp not ideal because it will be rubbing against other rigging components.

Ah.. that’s what those round split clip crimps were in my “left over parts” box from the new motor. Looked like they need a special tool to put on vs the ear-crimp style.

Cool - I might just stick with cable ties if I can find the special rounded ones locally. Thanks for the detail!
