"I recently bought a used 6 horse evinrude outboard model#e6rccs.
I read on this website a posting that stated that the fuel mix was 50:1. The motor has a symbol that states 100:1. The motor I.D. plate says Belgium on it. Is the mix ratio on the motor in metric measure, Is it 50:1 or should I go with what it says on the motor at 100:1. Thanx"

"Yes the correct fuel mix is 50:1.. All since 1964 should be run on 50:1 including those in the late 1980s that were originally labelled as 100:1.
The decals should have been removed!. Remove them and amend the owners manual as well.

See http://www.evinrude.com/en-CA/About.Us/FAQ/Oil.Fuel.htm

It does not matter whether you use metric measures or pints, fluid ounces and gallons.

100ccs of oil to 5 litres of gasoline.
1 US pint in 6 US gallons or 1 UK pint in 6 UK gallon are near enough.

Metric is a hell of a lot easier IMHO.

Also worth remembering especially if you are using metric that 50:1 is 2% oil "

"Also in the future Gil when in doubt use the mixture that's more oil-rich as too much oil will never hurt your motor and if it's smoking way too much you can always decrease the oil-gas mixure, however with older outboards you always want a mixture on the richer side"
