I've got a late '70's 15hp motor on my sailboat and I recent got myself an auto tiller for the boat. This is a pretty cool device that will allow me to step away from tiller read a book, have some food, do whatever while the boat is under sail. What it could ALSO do is self steer when motor is on but that will only be possible if I can lock throttle in to a certain speed (and of course lock tiller in centre position).
I know the later 9.9's and 15's had a cool little ring added to the throttle handle that would do just that...just wondering if this gang knows of a part or a hack that is easy to engage and disengage that I could use to accomplish same.
