Hi - I have a brand new Yamaha 25hp 2 stroke. It ‘s been stored in its box for 10 year (while I moved overseas). Never seen a drop of fuel, never been out on water. Extremely hard to pull the start cord. Suspected a seized motor, removed spark plugs, WD40 and oil in cylinders, motor turns relatively well manually with a spanner and even with a cord (minor resistance). As soon as I put the spark plugs back in -even 1 out of the 2- there is very strong resistance on the cord, in particular on two points during the pull. I am worried I’ll brake the cord or my shoulder. It feels as if there is excessive compression but I am not too sure, and completely unsure how to solve. Any ideas, help, welcome!!
PS: I even turned it in gear manually and impeller turns smoothly so I am ruling-out problem with lower part.
