Hello! Just introducing myself. I have a 1997 Mercury 200XL, carbureted, mounted to a 1997 Boston Whaler Dauntless 20. Low hours (450), well maintained annually, and good compression in all cylinders. Runs well, smokey at first, but then runs clean and quick after warm-up. Two things are worrying me...1) when cranking it sometimes catches/gets caught. and stops cranking abruptly. This worries me. Subsequent key turns crank no problem, or sometimes catches again. Also, the water pee stream indicating good circulation isn't that strong until it warms up...it kind of spits until it has been running a bit. And this is not with garden hose muffs, its with a full lower end immersion in a 100 gallon bin. Any input is greatly appreciated!
