Hi,
I have a BF150 with a side mount throttle. When I start the engine, I hear 2 test beeps from the buzzer and both lights illuminate (Green oil pressure and red overtemp), then the buzzer stops, but the 2 lights both stay on.
As far as I understand, the green light should stay on, and the red should go off. There is no buzzer noise anymore and I get this state as I start the engine from cold, so it can't be a real overheat. So I suspected wiring.
I removed the indicator light unit from the controls and tested it according to the test procedure in the service manual:
I connected grey to 12v. When I connect black to ground, I get green on [expected]. When I connect 2 and 3 to ground I get RED on [unexpected] . When I connect 2 to ground I get red on [expected].
So it looks like the indicator light unit is faulty. That the yellow line has a fault on it?
I would like to check with you guys if any of you have tested this indicator unit before? Do you get only green on with 2+3 connected [as expected in manual]? I ask as replacing the unit is not cheap, and getting the part will also be difficult. Otherwise has anyone opened the indicator unit (resin sealed) and had a poke around inside there? I might be able to repair it if anyone has an idea of how it works.
Thanks
Hairy
