HI everyone.
I baout a boat with this engine, and it had really bad fuel.
I have replaced all the fuelfilters, the whole Vapor separator kit and injectors.
If i lossen the injectors and fire the engine, i can see fuel going in to the engine and it fires up.
But when i put the injectors back in, it wont start.

Could it be something with AIR ?
My idéa was that because i have the whole injector rail loose it can suck air that way, and then fires up ?

Anyone knows what it could be ?
Thanks!

Hi,

I don't know but maybe you're right. Having the rail loose let's air in the cylinders.

Crack the throttle open some and try starting it. If it starts and runs that way you'll need to find out why it's not getting air. There might be a problem with the Idle.Air Control valve (IAC).

Thank you jgmo. I was going to suggest look at the top cowling, there should be an opening to allow air in to the engine and that would be the entrance point for critters. In warmer climates mud daubers have been known to set up shop in all kinds of places, outboards being one of those places.

Litle more progress.
I thing i have figured out that if i split nummer 23 from 1 the engine starts. But rough.
I need to open the throttle full, end then the engine revs high, when i lower the throttle one time it came a milky substance from the nr 1 hose.

Just once, but it still is hard to get it to start.
Could it be as easy as the airsensor 13 ?

Is there any software avalible to check the ecu status ?

Well, if there's "milky substance" in the 1 hose then there's bound to be some in hose 22 and that hose gets to the crankcase breather which is located inside the cylinder head cover....item 1 in the link below

I recommend that you remove that cover and the hose and clean all the mlky substance out.

If you haven't changed the oil and filter, I recommend you do that before attempting to run the engine again. You may find "milky substance" (oil mixed with water or fuel or both) inside the engine.

The software for these is called Dr. H.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the help, changed the oil and filter this morning, and now it starts and runs great.
Its been sittning for 2 years, so it were sure water from that in the oil
