Hope everyone is well,
I made a post some months back that turned into a long thread with great information in waking our 2004 Bombardier up after its 3 year long sleep. Runs great now and many a trips have been planned because of it I thank you guys for that.

Couple things I’m unsure about still, maybe the experts can chime in on this one. Firstly, during those months ago I replaced the gasket for the vapor separator cap as it’s very common for them to leak (as was mine). Because I had heard due to warpage they sometimes leak even with a new gasket, I used some Permatex #2 in tandem with the gasket. I was very conservative with how much I used. The other day I was checking for leaks and realized the Perm #2 was not really “dry” or could be rubbed off with my finger! I originally used it because it is fuel resistant and non-hardening but I did not expect it to come off that easily. Now I am worried some might come off internally and get sent into the fuel system and carbs via fuel rails. Should I be worried or not? What have you guys done to seal those vapor separator caps? They are discontinued everywhere so a new one is out of the question.

Lastly I’ve been experiencing something peculiar that I can’t tell if it’s a feature or not. When the engine is warm and we are idling in neutral, if I wiggle the throttle lever quickly in place without putting it in gear (trigger does not get depressed) the RPMs will jump up like 150 rpms and hold it. It is repeatable and not hard to do. Call me crazy but is this some kind of engine management feature as it’s not likely moving the throttle cable enough to move anything on the engine I would think. Could it be cable related somehow? Our throttle cable definitely is stiff in the housing. I’ve been trying to research a way to get lubricant down into the sheathing.
