Hello,
I have a Johnson 2-stroke 2-cylinder from 1982 with 4.5HP.
I have it running on one cylinder so I checked spark plugs and ignition coils, and they seem to be working.
I swapped the wires from each ignition coil in the 3-pool connector and the problem followed over to each ignition coil, before I did this i used electric tape on the kill switch wire to make sure that wasn’t’ an issue.
So both coils work, both spark plugs work, i tested them on metal and got spark from both.
I have also used a multimeter and tested the ohms in the trigger and stator and they seem to be fine. I do not have a DVA.
So… what’s the next step here? Should i just order a new CDI? Or should i clean all the ground wires and try to revive this CDI box?
What’s your thoughts?
