Johnson super seahorse 60hp VXL-12R - possibly repainted?

After cleaning the block I noticed it may have been originally red. Also some wonky distributer wires. Otherwise looks pretty good so far.

???----Johnsons were never painted red.-----A red oxide primer was used.----I clearly indicated that I suspect motor was repainted.----Sparkplug wires screw into the distributor cap.
