Looking for the correct tool for removing the retainer nut.

Looking for the proper to remove the retainer nut on the drive
part numbers given are wrong

Dealers here in Minnesota don’t want to work on anything as old as this one. It’s been sitting in my neighbors basement for about 30 years really nice shape

The measurements on the retainer nut. The slots are 2 1/2 inches across. There is four slots. For the tool to fit into

Now I’m wondering is there any way of pulling the bearing carrier without the proper tool.
It almost looks like it’s threaded, but I told it’s not anyone know for sure?

None of the dealers around here want to work on anything this old.

The bearing carrier is NOT threaded.-------Pull the propshaft out and bearing carrier comes out with it.

Tried to pull the shaft.
Even tried putting a large washer between 2 nuts and tapping with a hammer. No go

Tried this guy but not open till next Monday.

This worked for me. Popped right out

Those and a small piece of chain.
Picked up at Menards. I had the puller.

2)Is water supposed to come out of there?
3) what would I need to replace or repair now?

The bearing carrier is probably corroded in place to remove it some guys soak the whole thing in ATF and penetrating oil for a while.
Heating the housing also helps.

Sorry for late response.
Thr oil was where I added some where I probably shouldn’t have.
In the vent. Grr :-(
Think I was able to get most of it out. And the water is normal coming out of the lower exhaust area . Had the muffs hooked up while running.Pee hole can only push out so much water and the excess comes out there. That’s what I was told.Oil in the lower unit was milky so I ran and drained it 2 times. One last fill. Now going to try and take it out this weekend and see how she does. Then change it one more time. Sitting 30ish years the oil got pretty thick.
