Hi there, has anyone got a way to find a manual for the above engine? I am about to purchase a 1961 motor cruiser with a pair of these on board one of which needs work and they both need a service. Any help please? I cant seem to find anything going back this far in the UK.
Thanks
James

Try this site

http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopent..._engines/Pages/out_of_production_engines.aspx

Engile group: inboard; fuel type: gasoline; cylinders: 4 ; year of production: 1960-69

When one of the results is BB70, click on it and you will get two manuals: one in German

and one in Swedish.

Copy the whole links, then paste them into IE or Firefox or Google Chrome. Or just click on them. They will take a few minutes to download, so be patient. :)

The quality of the printing is good, so one way to translate the manuals is to use OCR in the pdf files (Adobe Acrobat Professional and other programs recognize text), then use an online translator like Google Translator. The results will not be perfect, but in absence of an English version I think you will be satisfied.

thanks very much, I will have a go at that, appreciated

thanks el pescador, I followed your instructions and have two files as you say one in german and one in swedish. I don't have Adobe professional and google stated the file size is too big to translate! Unfortunately I do not speak either language so I guess I had better start evening classes.

Also it seems now that parts for these engines are totally obsolete. Any ideas??
Kind regards
James
