I have a 2025 Mercury Pro XS 200 hp motor. Yesterday I put the boat in the water and trimmed down a little, but not all the way because of the depth. All was fine, then, without notice or my touching anything, the motor trimmed all the way down and continued cycling down. When I hit the up switch on the helm and on the motor, it just shuts off instead of going up. When I take my finger off it, it keeps cycling down, even though it's already at the bottom. Given it was a 90-degree day and the 4th of July week, I understand not getting an immediate return call from Bass Pro service, but I didn't get one at all. No Mechanics would come out to help, so I was stuck wondering how I was going to get this thing onto the trailer. Unhooked the hot lead to the battery to stop it from cycling down multiple times on and off with no "reset". After 2 hours, and after contemplating backing into the shallow water to find the pressure release for the motor to raise it manually (she's a heavy one), I once again put power back to it, hit up, and, by the grace of god, it went up. I was so happy that when it got up, I undid the hot lead to the battery, just in case it started the same game of downcycling only. Long story, I know. The question is, has anyone had this issue on these motors? And I am taking it to Bass Pro for a check because I can't trust it now. Would this be due to a loose trim pin? Sender pin? Or a relay issue? Thank you.
