I have a newer 40hp 4 stroke on a 130 Boston Whaler. It has never run correctly. The engine has 32 hours on it. It runs great for about 10 minutes and then starts sputtering and rolls back. I seems like a fuel problem, but I replaced the entire fuel system (hoses, pumps, filters, bulb… everything) and no difference. When it does roll back it also has a little bit of a high pitch squeal. If the engine rests for a few minutes, it runs for a few minutes and then the same thing happens.
