Hi All, can you damage the fuel pump by not opening the fuel tank breather?
I was doing a bit of work on the old motor, replaced the water pump and ran it to check it. brought the revs up quiet a bit to test. What I didnt realize was I had the vent closed on the fuel tank and ran it for a while like that.
So the next time I started it primmed it up and it ran although not great, this is normal until it seems to get fuel through the carbs, It will typically run and then just stop dead, does that about two times and after that all good. However it now seems like it got a miss and is struggling for fuel. It would run OK for a bout 20-30 seconds and then just die. I am going to put a kit it over the weekend and see if that helps.
Thanks.
