Mercruiser 496 inlet water cleaning

Will replace raw waterpump and at the same time clean the inlet hose all the way to the outdrive. How to do?

Remove the hose or just back flush it

If your in fresh water and unless your noticing an overheat issue I wouldn't bother.
If your in salt water then remove the hose at the transom to see if you have Bravoits
