Hi Guys,
Just joined the forum and am from South Africa.
Was wondering if anyone can help with the follow:
I have twin Mercury 40HP engines on my boat. These run amazingly well and have not had a single issue with them. Start perfectly everytime and run like a dream.
Was out on the water yesterday and engines were running fine as usual. Turned the engines off to have a couple of casts at some fish and then when we tried to move off again both engines would not start. They are turning over and are getting fuel etc. but the just do not start.
Could this be a killswitch wiring issue inside the motors? I don't have a killswitch on the throttle and it would appear that the wires for this had been cut/disconnected by the previous owner.
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be great. I am assuming it is something electrical as its highly unlikely that both engines would have mechanical failure at exactly the same time when i have never had any issues with them previously?
Thanks in advance!
Dom
