Need a new throttle

My 23 ft 2008 Seaswirl walkaround was repowered in 2023 with a Merc 350 MAG MPI. The throtle is original equipment and after 18 years is in need of replacement. It's just a basic single engine side mounted throttle with trim functions and a manual kill switch. Just wondered if there's been and significant improvements I should be looking at when I go to replace it. Thanks.

What makes you say it is need of replacement?
 
The change from Gen1 to Gen2 Remote Control / Cables happened early 00s. So your 08 is probably compatible with new controls.

Trim switch feels like it's ready to fall off and makes it hard to trim up or down smoothly. The throttle itself sticks when moving to reverse and making docking more of an adventure then it should be. Also seems more "loose" than before so I just want to replace it and the cables and have one less headache.
