Need to know what transom assembly product designation model number you have but as an example to most likely, I suspect you're looking for items 89, maybe 87/41, https://www.volvopentastore.com/Con...on_id.587577294--store_id.366--view_id.777327

Plus Item number 7 to 58 (87^), https://www.volvopentastore.com/Coo...st-Manifold-C/dm/store_id.366--view_id.777274

All from here, https://www.volvopentastore.com/Mar...Q151C-7744660/dm/store_id.366--view_id.765178

Hello, I found what looks like a vin number on a metal plate on outside of transom, upper right corner. It reads: SCR81057L889 Thank you!
The number doesn’t seem to be coming up as anything obvious at the moment but that should be okay because with the parts link titled all from here above should be all you need to locate all parts needed for your complete set up from engine to drive.

Have you had a chance to look through everything to see if the items you are searching for can be located to help put the pieces together?

I did. It looks like the cooling water uptake pipe thru the VP parts store is priced OVER $600 And not sure if it’s for the aq151c. Also, other site we called that has rubber replacement tubes has not got back with us bc we couldn’t identify part numbers or if they are compatible parts. maybe I am missing something?

Seems unless I want to pay $560+ fora copper line from VP dealer selling old new parts, I am lost because the part numbers I a, finding are not matching up with this engine!!

This place suggests they have one left in stock but it's "used", https://www.freshwatervolvopentapar...pipe-water-uptake-855371-aq171-a-aq-171-c-252

This place suggests 2 in stock, https://useddieselenginecenter.com/pijp-855371-volvo-penta

Tube set, https://volvopentaandrew.us/product...-coolant-tube-set-855518-855371-855615-855438

In this case used should be fine so they might be worth a try to see what happens.

And then you need part number 838513 which is item 58 by the pipe in question parts diagram and is then 87 in the transom assembly link too, https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=838513&_sacat=0

What has happened to yours again?

Hi Boat Tech,
thank you for those part links. iseenthem but wasn’t sure if the 171 would work for the 151. Unfortunately they were missing when my blind dad bought the boat and the marina had connected a garden Hose up and ran the engine, my brother didn’t notice it was gone. I will look for these parts 58 and 87 too! Thank you!!!

Hey Tech,
I just noticed the diag link you sent showing hose clamp..#88 on it. Can we just use a stainless hose clamp for this? I dont see what the difference would be and am I looking at it wrong, do we need 4 of them?

Yes you’d be alright using a good quality ss clamp from elsewhere. I know the price is high especially nowadays as they all went up after the plandemic ended but that was an example of what you may or may not have needed depending on what the boat came with, etc..
If desired, you could search out the VP number and find at lower costs elsewhere… here’s some images of what they out to look like from the factory is all to help make things easier on you.

Also being new is $600.00 and good used is lower, when searching it out they’re letting you know it came off this engine size/model but in searching the part number and other engine types, suggests they used this pipe on other models as well. As an example the following same pipe in question is the same part number as yours but found looking up a 171 engine.

I have one last question, if I may? How does the copper pipe connect to the copper pipe coming out of raw water pump and the other end is wider that goes to the hose leading from transom? I think it shows some sort of ring seal that goes over the wide end of copper pipe but seems the molded rubber elbow tube would have to be wide at one end and slightly smaller at other end to accommodate the wider pipe and not split when trying to fit it over it. And if I got one wide enough and same wider diameter at both ends, then it would be too lose to clamp and get an airtight seal..am I way off here? I can’t see how they originally connected or what the replacement would be now. Thank you!

Hello,
we got the cooling pipe today. It came with the rubber elbow and two clamps and a flange with one hole on the pump end but do not see how to connect it to the pump. Any ideas? Thank you!
