Need Volvo Penta Tools for XDP-B Repair

Hello Captains, I’m facing an issue finding the necessary tools. On board, I have two Volvo Penta OSI-E 4.3 engines with two XDP-B drives. One of the drives has failed due to a broken gear.

To repair the drive, I need specific tools from the Volvo Penta catalogue: PN 3861659 and PN 3861661. I have spent a lot of time trying to find them, either used or new it doesn’t matter, but without success.

Maybe someone has these tools and is willing to sell them to me, or knows who sells them or where I can find them.

I would really appreciate any help.
Thank you!

For 3861659 there seems to be an alternative tool created by someone at marine parts express.

Maybe give them a call regarding 3861661 to see if they’ve come up with something.

Backordered Volvo Penta Tool #3855877

Volvo Tool #3855877 is now available, but it is often unavailable for extended periods of time.. This tool removes the outer prop shaft housing for both DPS and XDP drives. In the case of this tool being unvailable, we have come up with a work-around that works very well. In fact, it works arguably better than the original tool as it is substantially strong and provides a heavier support for a socket. Order our work-around part # 3855877-3861659 MPE for $195. See photos below.

If they don’t then you’ll probably have to have something similarly made by either you or a machine shop.

For reference you may have to join to see what the others had mentioned,
