Happy Easter!
PO bypassed and discarded the neutral safety switch. Since my grandchildren will be using this boat after I finally rehab it, I think it is a safety necessity. I found a switch & mounting screws on Ebay, but can't find the metal bracket they screw into. I can't find this switch on the Marine Engine parts list. Can anybody point me to a parts breakdown for that switch? Thanks...

Was an electric start kit installed ?-----Remote control installed ?--------On a manual start motor you can not pull the recoil if it is in gear !----Perhaps look on a J25TEETS model for the parts.

Tiller, electric start. Key switch replaced with simple push button. Not sure why he took off the switch. He crimped a pig tail on the lead and sent it to ground.

Look on the J25TEETS model for the parts.----That was the factory installed tiller electric start.-----Yours left the factory as a manual start.

Call Tim's Outboard in Hackensack MN. 218 682 2331. Mike or Dan can set you up with info and possibly the correct part. I might have one here too.

That makes sense now, maybe never had one. You'd think they would include that with the e-start kit. Thanks...

Why sure that is included in the kit as clearly shown on accessories pages for 1993 !!!!.------But did the installer buy a new kit or just salvaged parts off a donor motor to do the job??

Gents, back at it groveling for more info. The J25TEETS was a huge help, shows the switch. Mine is still different and I have a broken part I can't identify. It is a 1-piece plastic shift link that extended through the bottom of the lower engine cover for a shift cable to hook to. The piece extends up inside the cowling and attaches to shift cam. All the parts are plastic. Mine as a broken piece and I can't find it on those parts list. Any help with a stab at the model number would be a great help. I believe the engine was purchased to run remote and converted to tiller. Thanks...

Thanks, maybe, the FSM is calling it a Shift Lever. My part has a grease fitting right in the middle of the part sticking out the lower engine housing. Can't tell if it's the same part.
