New head on Honda 60hp

Did you use assemble lube when installing cams and valves? Could empty and refill the crankcase to make sure everything is wet with oil before starting.
I usually start them initially without using cooling water and let run a half a minute then do compression test, if within spec I'll run with water.
 
Thanks, head is being installed at a shop and just want opinions on how and if necessary to break in a new head.
 
Last time I sent a head to machine shop they didn't put the springs on the right valves. The springs on a 150 are color coded with and pink or black paint markings for intake and exhaust. Not sure on your engine. check your shop manual if yours arevcolor coded to intake and exhaust ask them before they bolt head to the block as once bolted it requires a a tear down to fix. But it s no big deal to move the spring with the head off.
