I have what appears to be a hard to find sea pump. It is spraying water around the belt shaft. Any help locating parts or other matching bearinds or seals would be great.

they aren't real common...I'd say most likely an old sherwood pump.

What's the OD on the V-belt pulley?

Can you measure the hose sizes - I'm thinking one is 1" and the other is 1.25" (measuring the hose nipples on the pump, below the barb, is probably the most accurate)??

Makomark, thank you for the reply. I assume since you are asking me these questions you have an idea about some kind of retro fit part?

In any case pictures are included with callipered dimensions in inches. again thank you!
Jeff

Yes, had a hunch but it didn't pan out...an old Sherwood G9902.

Usually, you can find the identifying numbers/marks/letters via close inspection of the pump. Like alternators, they are usually bought from one of the specialty suppliers as turn key subassemblies. If you can't find that data, a place like Depco Pump Company will find you a replacement or offer ideas. Worst case, you could use a crank mounted pump, something similar to a Johnson F5..

Thanks. I would love to retro fit it if it could be done easily and the cost makes sense. I have been exchanging emails with a guy from Marine pump Direct who suggests the same thing. The he sent me this link with like 78 items on it. I am a handy guy and work on all my own stuff. I will admin that I am no pump expert. I would really need some detailed info on exact product, setup, flow rate, left hand motor direction, etc..

Thanks Jeff

the rubber vane impeller pumps can usually be reversed by inserting the impeller with the opposite rotation...that part is easy.

getting the mounting (and adjustment) is usually the hard part...the hose routing can usually be adjusted.

As to the flow rate required, you have to look at the whole cooling system to make sure the new stuff is compatible...FWIW, many use the same pump on a 502CID big block that is used on a 305CID small block...my take is extra pump output is ok but inadequate flow out is unacceptable.
