I have twin BF150, the PGM indicator panel does not light up on the stud engine when I turn the key on.Port engine is ok. Switched indicator panel with working unit and it lights up. No 12v at the connector on stbd engine. Where to start looking???

Hi,

Do you have a fuse panel? If so, start there. But they sometimes can put fuses in the dumbest places....like in the harness....and that makes it tough if you don't have the wiring diagram for the remote.

DON'T "skim" over fuses. A bad fuse can look ok but still be bad. Check them thoroughly by pulling them out of the holder and checking them with an ohmmeter. It just takes a small amount of corrosion to kill the power to that panel.

Even if you find a blown fuse, you need to keep in mind that those remote wiring looms are often run next to screws and sharp metal and, if the fuse keeps blowing, you'll need to find the bad spot in the harness. It can be a TOTAL pain!

Wish I had better advice to offer but that's all I have.

I'll be watching for your "FOUND IT" update so, cheering you on!

Good luck.

Jgmo is correct. And there is a 7.5 amp fuse in each side of the wiring harness, too. Check those first. You've got to fish around a bit to find them.

See the attached wiring diagram. (You may need to open it in Microsoft Edge.)

Problem solved had throttle and shift cables replaced, there was no dummy/terminator in what I think is a connector for digital gauges, harness was plugged in there, switched connector to correct plug and all is well. Didn't have a terminator for other plug so I taped it up securely.

Sounds good. Glad you found the problem. I recommend that you print out that diagram I sent. It can be very useful down the road.
