Poppet Valve on a Mercruser Stern Drive.

Has anyone ever had a issue with a sticking Poppet Valve on a Mercruser Stern Drive. I have a newer 4.5 bravo 3 and all . signs point to this. Chasing this all summer.

I assume you mean on the thermostat housing? Where it Tee s off to send water to the elbows when the engine is running? Haven't had an issue with mine but could see them easily getting stuck open with corrosion or debris and causing an overheat . I f they are like the ones on my 5.0 easy to get to and replace the internals . Put your serial number in the parts section here and it should take you to the parts diagrams

No its on the back of the engine on a 4.5 has four hoses going to it.

Chris not yet started doing fair no alarm but pressure is low. around 7 after along run. Plan on taking it apart this week I think I found .It is on the back of the engine 4 hoses going to it hope its not to much of a pain. Thanks Again for all the help ..
