Hello, I have a 1985 Mercury Black Max, 200hp, and the oil pump seems to have just quit. Fortunately, the Alarm warned me when the oil level dropped on the tank atop the motor. Rather than spend an arm and a leg on an oil pump right now, I would like to bypass the oil pump, and run on a mix. I believe I can...
1. Add a T from the oil reservoir to the input and output of the oil pump
2. Plug the line going to the fuel pump
3. Plug the air pressure return from the crankcase
Could someone verify this as a good way to do it or advise otherwise? Below is a diagram.
