Removing Tilt/Trim Assembly from 2006 225

Just picked up a 2006 225. Previous Owner said the tilt/trim was leaking. Not sure if it is related to his reported issue but when I got everything hooked up as soon as I turned the key to the on position the Tilt/Trim motor starts spinning and does not stop until I turn the key off or unplug the motor.

Not sure where it was leaking so I figured I would take it off and take a look at the whole thing without having to worry about the thing falling and taking my fingers off. I removed the pin at the top of the center ram and loosened the nut at the bottom but can't seem to get that bolt out. I tapped on it but it does not budge. Is there a trick to getting that long bolt that the bottom pivots on out? There is so much bottom paint on there I cannot tell if if that is a bolt head or not.

The trick to get the collar cylinder out to remove tilt unit is you have to spread the left and right stern brackets (see bracket swivel case diagram on parts schematic) To do this you'll need to loosen tilt shaft nuts so it can spread think they are 32mm back them off on both sides. Then lift the engine or unbolt one side from transom and spread the half's with hydraulic bottle jack or two large bolts and a barrel nut .
