I have a 1998 Tiarra 3100 with twin Crusader 454 xLi, 350 hp engines, MPI, closed cooling, and rear HX. Two separate mechanics have recommended that I replace the engines. I am looking at either a remanufactured engine using my cores or buying a new base engine. Any recommendations on places to purchase the engines or get them remanufactured? Also will want to send out my Velvet drive transmissions for rebuild at the same time,
I have seen some online shops offering new base engines with 385-415 hp options, looks like main difference is roller cams and high output Rect. port heads. I know the 8.1l Crusaders were an option on this boat. Any thoughts on increasing the hp?
