My boat has a raw/fresh water cooling system.
Due to an overheating problem at around 3000 rpm's and that I could no longer get full suction when using the muffs to flush the engine I recently discovered the nipple (as ID'd by the outdrive parts diagram) or the hose connector which connects the water S hose to or thru the pivot housing has broken off. I have reviewed the online manual but have not been able to find replacing the nipple as a proceedure only instructions how to disassemble the outdrive. Since this is my first experience working on the outdrive can anyone tell me how difficult replacing this nipple is? Is this something I should have a mechanic perform? Thanks for any suggestions.
