As a bought a used Lund Baron 2150 from 2003, I was almost ready to put it on he water and just needed to have the powerstreering hoses connected and bleed (boat was stores for 2 years and the engine was on a rack with hoses disconnected during the storage)
After trying to fill and bleed the system at home, I brought the boat to a mechanic and we come to the same result ; we are able to pump fluid in the line and bleed them but not enough pressure to have the cylinder turn the engine effectively.
My mechanic tells me the Helm unit needs to be replaced/serviced. He will look to see if he can order a brand new helm unit.

Helm : HH5290 2.0 Sport Tilt.
My questions to you are :
1. Is it necessary to replace the full helm unit or it can be serviced ?
2. If i need to replace the head unit and don't need the tilt option, can i buy a cheaper Helm than the 5290 ?
